The Psalmist will also tell us that joy separate of God, is a short measure. Anything we seek, separate of God, has an expiration date. Whether it’s a new bell for the dog collar or Botox for your lips or… you get the point. Our joy might last two years. Maybe a month. Might last a lifetime! But it’ll never be full or completely satisfying, and it’ll never last forever.
